Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
We start and end each day with group games and take a break from projects every two hours for group activities. Lunch break also includes a longer outdoor break with structured games.
In general, the answer is “yes”, but it is very important for us to know in advance when a child has special needs so that we can plan for it appropriately and maximize their learning and enjoyment. Also, please be sure to read the section on special needs in our policy.
Child development is a huge, dynamic spectrum. Children of same age sometimes have vastly different abilities and interests. We pay attention individually to a child’s emotional makeup, reading level, ability to work independently, ability to sustain focus, and other developmental factors. We also pair up more experienced campers with the less experienced to foster mentorship and support learning by both sides.
M-Tech Camps are open to children between the ages of 8 – 16.
The only difference is the amount of time students have to complete their projects. Half-day and full-day students have the same program options open to them. For AM-only campers, we highly recommend upgrading to full day on Friday in order to participate in the project showcase held Friday afternoons.
We encourage students to use their own equipment as learning can be continued seamlessly at home, but we cannot be responsible for the safety of any valuables with them.
Students should not be dropped off more than 30 minutes before the start of any session and should be picked up within 10 minutes after the end of a session.
Failure to adhere to this schedule raises safety concerns for students, as there is only supervision during designated workshop and after-workshop hours. An early drop-off or late pick-up will result in at £5.00 fee for every 15 minute increment.
If a student has one or more siblings attending a Summer Workshop that begins at an earlier time, both students may be dropped off at the earlier time. Conversely, if one student’s After-Workshop Activities end at a later time than the others, both students may be picked up at the later time.
